Attention level pendingPest precautions

This category is unconfirmed and does not establish a Paederus beetle. Fluid from a crushed Paederus beetle can cause burning, redness and blisters on contact with skin. This does not apply to all rove beetles. Confirmed Paederus beetles warrant heightened precautions.

What to do: Avoid crushing or rubbing the beetle against your skin. Keep clear photographs for identification.

These platform-defined accommodation attention levels consider precautions and travel-related spread, not medical severity. Guidance concerns pests in general and does not establish species identification or current hotel conditions.
